The ingredients in both our products are pharmaceutical grade unlike many other supplements.

Our Omega product is free from PBC, Mercury, lead, other heavy metals and contaminants. Low grade and health food grade fish oils may contain varied levels of the aforementioned metals and toxins as well as adding to their bad taste. Our product has three times the levels of DHA and EPA as most health grade fish oils.

HEARTSHiELD OMEGA™ is enteric coated and fortified with vitamin E.

Enteric coating is a process which coats the inside of the gelcap to help it pass through the acidic stomach environment to the intestinal tract, where absorption is most beneficial. In addition, enteric coating helps reduce fishy taste, odor, and belching. Vitamin E naturally maintains the freshness of the oils and benefits the immune system by adding to the nutrient content of the supplement. It is uncommon for supplements to provide enteric coating due to expense. We pass our quality and care in our product onto you. Choice Sterol™

Choice Sterol™ contains mixed tall oil plant sterols and stanols from a non-genetically-modified coniferous tree source. The FDA has extended a qualified health claim to include free form phytosterols that by naturally lowering cholesterol: Foods or products containing at least 400 mg per serving of free phytosterols taken twice a day with meals for a daily intake of at least 800 mg, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. A serving of HEARTSHiELD ALPHA (two capsules) contains 800mg of plant sterols and stanols for a daily total of 1600mg.

*Phytosterols decrease serum cholesterol levels by decreasing the absorption of dietary LDL cholesterol. Studies have found phytosterols to safely and naturally lower LDL cholesterol 10-15%.
*Phytosterol cholesterol lowering benefits are normally seen within 30 days, following the recommended dosage in conjunction with exercise and a low fat diet.

Trans Resveratrol

*The polyphenol and antioxidant resveratrol found in grapes and wine has been found to pharmacologically precondition the heart by promoting Nitric Oxide (NO) production. Nitric Oxide upregulation increases relaxation in the lining of the arterial walls which is considered to be beneficial with regards to cardiovascular disease. Studies have found that resveratrol also exhibits anti-clotting properties by simultaneously inhibiting platelet aggregation and stimulating platelet apoptosis (degredation). Dietary resveratrol may act as an antioxidant as well as increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (“good cholesterol”), and thereby serve as a cardioprotective agent. In addition, resveratrol exhibits antiinflammatory, neuroprotective, and antiviral properties. It is speculated that supplements that contain even small doses of resveratrol may be likely to represent potential in the slowing of cardiac aging.

Resveratrol is not just beneficial for the heart. Other studies show that resveratrol exhibits anticancer properties by its ability to suppress growth of a wide variety of tumor cells, including cancers of the breast, prostate, stomach, colon, pancreas, and thyroid, melanoma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, lymphoid and myeloid cancers, ovarian carcinoma, multiple myeloma, and cervical carcinoma. Further studies have found resveratrol to support healthy cholesterol, insulin, and blood pressure levels. Resveratrol is being highly studied because of its proven ability to mimic calorie restriction and trigger the release of Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1). It is currently believed that SIRT1 has a role in slowing aging and disease processes.

HEARTSHiELD ALPHA contains 100mg of pure trans resveratrol in each capsule for a daily serving of 400mg of trans resveratrol. A typical bottle of wine contains somewhere from approximately 1-6 mg of resveratrol.*

DHA+EPA Omega-3 fatty acids. May Reduce the Risk of Coronary Heart Disease

The FDA determined supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. CoQ10

*Coenzyme Q10 is a naturally occurring compound in the mitochondria of living cells. As such it has a vital role in the production of ATP which is the cell’s major source of energy. CoQ10 also serves as an antioxidant. Studies have found that CoQ10 may support healthy blood pressure, cardiac function, immune function, and neural function. CoQ10 has also been shown to be beneficial with other disorders related to suboptimal cellular energy metabolism and injury caused by the oxidative stress of free radicals.
